From Vivino to Vinage: bringing your wine cellar along

You've spent years scanning wines, rating them and adding them to your cellar. You don't want to lose that when you switch. And you don't have to: Vinage reads your Vivino export, including the number of bottles per wine.

Step 1: request your export from Vivino

  • Open the Vivino app.
  • Tap your profile photo in the top right and go to Settings → Account Management.
  • Choose Start an export.

Vivino prepares your data in a zip file. This can take a while, sometimes hours. When the export is ready, download the zip.

Step 2: import the zip into Vinage

  • Open Vinage and go to Settings → Data Management.
  • Press Import from Vivino and select the zip. Unpacking is not necessary.

Is your collection still empty? Then you'll find the button directly in your Collection.

After completion you'll see exactly what has been imported: how many wines and bottles in your cellar, how many wines you've only rated, and what's on your wishlist.

What do you take with you?

  • Your cellar, with the number of bottles per wine
  • Your own ratings, not the average of other Vivino users
  • Your reviews and personal notes
  • Wines you've rated but don't have in your cellar
  • Your wishlist
  • Per wine: producer, name, vintage, type, region and country

What don't you take with you?

  • Photos of labels. If you scan a bottle again in Vinage, you'll have it back.
  • Grapes, drinking history and location in your cellar. These are not (fully) included in Vivino's export.

What happens to your private data?

Vivino's export contains more than just your wines, such as your email address, login credentials and scan locations. Vinage does not open those files. Only your cellar, your ratings and your wishlist are read.

Importing twice?

No problem. Wines already in your collection are skipped. So you can import a new export later to supplement it.

What does it cost?

Vinage is free up to 100 bottles, without ads. If you have more bottles, everything is still imported. You lose nothing. Only when you want to add new wines afterwards do you need a subscription: Enthusiast (€2.99 per month, up to 250 bottles) or Collector (€4.99 per month, unlimited).
