Vinage is continuously being developed, and much of what's added comes from feedback by users who use the app every day. Here are the most important updates from recent times.
A taste profile that evolves with you
Until now, you set your taste preferences yourself. From now on, Vinage also derives a profile from what you actually drink and how you rate wines — which grapes, regions, styles and price ranges truly appeal to you.
You remain in full control: you choose whether the recommendations are guided by your set profile, the derived profile, a combination of both, or whether you turn it off entirely. Both profiles sit side by side, so you can see exactly where they differ. Surprisingly often, your actual taste turns out to be slightly different from what you thought.
Cabinet and wine cooler as cellar types
Not everyone has a classic wine rack. In addition to grid, rack and diamond, you can now set up a cabinet or wine cooler, with shelves you organize yourself. The display shows exactly which bottle sits on which shelf.
Scanning the back of the label
The front of a bottle doesn't show everything. The alcohol percentage, the grape composition and the supplier you'll usually find on the back. That's why you can now add a second photo: Vinage reads it and automatically fills in missing information.
Importantly: fields you've already filled in will never be overwritten. Only what's empty gets filled in.
Placing bottles became much more pleasant
– You now place a bottle graphically from the editing screen, instead of through a list
– Moving does what you'd expect: the old space becomes free
– The number of bottles and the number of spaces can no longer get out of sync
– When entering a supplier, you choose from your previously used suppliers with a single tap
And more
Behind the scenes, a lot of work has been done on reliability, especially around synchronization between devices. Your cellar stays the same everywhere, even if you make changes on your phone and look further on your laptop later.
